Surprise! Dolphins have balls

Give Sparano and Co. credit for making a much needed move that everyone knew must occur, but few expected to happen: Chad Henne is heading to the bench.

Don't think that Chad Pennington will miraculously save the day. He's old, hasn't seen significant action in two years, and played above his head in his miracle season with Miami in 2008.

But the Dolphins needed to do something, and it took a lot of balls to bench Henne. Miami was adamant that Henne just needed more time, and represented the future of the franchise. While there's still the possibility that he will receive another shot with the Dolphins, Miami is admitting he's far from the answer.

The Dolphins have been the epitome of mediocre this year. Not good, not bad, just sort of there and very boring to watch. No, Pennington isn't exactly Mr. Excitement, but the move will add an exciting element to the season and possibly give the Dolphins a jolt.
